Madeline and Max met in Santa Monica while working for a tech company called GumGum. They worked in different departments but met at a holiday party and dated secretly for several months. On their first date they bonded over a love of gin as they both ordered a Gin & Tonic. They have fond memories of their time in Los Angeles.

Madeline and Max knew they both loved dogs and despite only dating for a year they were both ready for a big commitment. In April 2019 they decided to get a dog together and named him Goose after a Whitlow family favorite - Top Gun.

Together they traveled a lot - exploring nearby cities like Santa Barbara and San Diego but often making time to visit new areas like Seattle and Encinitas, Mexico. The two found they shared a love of food, wine and most importantly, cheese.

They were on a weekend trip visiting Madeline's family in Northern California for her birthday when COVID-19 lockdown happened. The two decided to stay for the week and "wait it out". They ended up staying with Katie and Brady for 6 months. During which Max became much closer with the Whitlow family and the four regularly shared dinner with wine and of course a dessert of French cheeses.

Over the years Madeline and Max have spent time with family at the lake, teaching Max how to wake surf and playing with their dog in the lake.

In October of 2020, Madeline and Max decided to leave LA officially and move to San Francisco to be closer to family and explore new job opportunities in the Bay Area. The two currently live in Potrero Hill.

In 2021, they visited Lyon, France together where Max is from. They spent time with Max's family and friends and celebrated Christmas together there.

As the years passed they developed a passion for a good dirty martini.

On their most recent visit to France, Madeline and Max were visiting a small town outside of Lyon called Annecy where they got engaged.
